IS YOUR DOG LOST?

Here's how to increase your chances of getting him back!
If Ranger digs under the fence and takes off to seek his fortune or if Fluffy runs out the door past the kids and disappears, don't lose hope. Most dogs will come home within 24 hours if at all possible.

Your best bet to get your pet back is to make sure he's easily identified with tags. If he's found by a good Samaritan, then a registration number or tag with your name and telephone number on it is his ticket home. The municipality keeps records of all registration numbers, so a simple phone call is all it takes to get your name and phone number.

If Fluffy's not identified, there are still several steps you can take:

1. Call K9 Friends and report your dog missing, giving a description and a contact number. You will be notified if anyone reports a stray or found dog which matches the description of yours.

2. Call the Municipality to report the dog is missing and check if your dog is with them.

3. Place a lost dog ad in the daily newspapers giving your area of town and a brief description of your pet.

4. Make sure your neighbours know your dog is missing, and ask them to watch for him.

5. Make some posters with a colour picture of your pet and post them around the neighbourhood, in supermarkets, near schools, etc.

When your dog is found, make sure you inform K9 Friends so we can take him off our "lost" list and make sure you get a tag for him/her as soon as possible.
