Lend a Paw
 K9
Friends are always looking for more volunteers. This
would enable us to work more effectively for the benefit of more
dogs. We are encouraged that the awareness and eagerness of school
children to help has increased. We appreciate their efforts and
have received many donations of money and food. Well done! However,
we also need more mature volunteers who are willing to help K9 Friends
by taking even more responsibility for dogs in need.
So, who are these volunteer types?
There is nothing magical or special
about them. They come from a range of backgrounds and lifestyles
but they have one common goal - the desire to do what they can to
save our canine friends from needless suffering and misery. If you
would like to add your voice to those already speaking up for the
dog, perhaps you should become a K9 Friends volunteer!
WHAT YOU CAN DO:
- If you are computer literate and enjoy working
with people, you can help answering the K9 phone and working in
the office.
- If you are confident handling dogs and don't
mind getting your hands dirty, you could help us caring and cleaning
up after the dogs and pups in the shelter.
- If you are able to keep dogs in your home
environment, you could register as a foster parent, thereby giving
a dog a "halfway home" until a permanent home is found.
- If you have a car and some measure of free
time, you could help with transportation of dogs.
- If you could spare a couple of hours occasionally,
you could man our stall, selling merchandise.
- If you have any particular skills, such
as organisational abilities, or fund-raising experience, you could
offer these to K9 Friends who are always in need of motivated
people.
- If your time is already fully accounted
for but you would still like to make a difference to the quality
of life for dogs in the Emirates, you could sponsor a dog or make
a one-off donation to our cause and sponsor a kennel
